Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines adolescence as a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood, occurring between the ages of 10 and 19. Based on interviews conducted with adolescent girls in schools within the working area of Daya Health Center, Makassar, the data obtained showed that the level of knowledge among adolescents about the benefits of iron supplementation tablets (Fe tablets) after the COVID-19 pandemic remains low. Many adolescents are still unaware of the importance of consuming iron tablets. If this condition continues, both short-term and long-term impacts may arise, such as anemia, decreased immunity, difficulty concentrating, and increased risks of premature birth, bleeding, and even maternal death. These issues became our consideration for conducting health education for adolescent girls in the Daya Health Center working area in 2025. The method used to support adolescents includes providing counseling about the benefits of iron supplementation tablets for adolescent girls after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to counseling, we also carried out health checks such as measuring vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and body weight. The purpose of this activity is to increase the enthusiasm of adolescent girls in participating in each program. The expected outcome is that the community, particularly adolescents, can understand the importance of iron tablets after COVID-19 and improve their knowledge and awareness regarding this health issue.
