Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) continues to increase globally, with Indonesia ranking fifth in the world. Diabetic neuropathy is a major complication that carries the risk of foot ulcers and amputation. Early detection, education on emergency diabetes self-management, and foot massage are important for prevention. This program includes counseling, training, and neuropathy screening to enhance patient independence in preventing complications. The goal of this activity is to improve community independence and knowledge regarding diabetes emergency self-care and home-based foot massage, enable early detection of neuropathy, and encourage active community participation in health education in Desa Surulangi, Kecamatan Polobangkeng, Kabupaten Takalar. The activities carried out include education on diabetes emergency self-management, foot massage, and neuropathy foot examinations. As a result, there was an increase in knowledge and early detection screening outcomes of neuropathy in Desa Surulangi, Kecamatan Polobangkeng, Kabupaten Takalar.
