Gambaran Pengetahuan Terhadap Penanganan Hipotermia Pada Mountain Tourism Di Gunung Bawakaraeng

Background. Hypothermia is a medical condition that is at risk of occurring in mountain climbers. Climbing refers to people or tourists who are hiking up a mountain. Whereas data from Mountain Rescue Bawakaraeng shows that 71 people experienced trouble and hypothermia while climbing Mount Bawakaraeng from 2020 to 2024. The lack of knowledge among mountain tourists about hypothermia is also a contributing factor to the increase in hypothermia cases. The information about handling hypothermia in mountain tourists who engage in sports in the mountains must be increased through health education. Then, in tourism health nursing, which is a field of study that usually emerges and is a branch of public health that examines aspects related to the health of tourists, the health of the local community in mountainous tourist areas, and all parties involved in the tourism industry. Objective. the purpose of the research is to understand the knowledge of hypothermia management among mountain tourists at Mount Bawakaraeng using a questionnaire distribution. Metode The method used in this research is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional study design, which is an observational research design. The number of respondents was 85 people. Results. The results of this study showed that the average tourist understands the knowledge of handling hypothermia while climbing Mount Bawakaraeng amount 50 respondent (58.8%). Conclusion: The average knowledge of tourists regarding hypothermia management was found to be good.
