Background: One effort that can be made to reduce the morbidity and mortality of tuberculosis is by
maximizing patient self-care, this is important because it can contribute to reducing the number of irregular
treatments and increasing acceptance and completion of treatment. Method This type of research is
Descriptive Analytical with a Cross Sectional Study research design carried out in the work area and a
sample size of 133 people using total sampling. Results: The research results obtained from the Chisquare
statistical test showed that age (p = 0.02), attitude (p = 0.001), marital status (p = 0.04), and housing
conditions (p = 0.04) influenced self-management through direct channels. Knowledge (p = 0.001) and
education (p = 0.001) influence self-management through direct and indirect channels. Education indirectly
influences self-management both through knowledge and attitudes. Knowledge indirectly impacts selfmanagement through attitudes. In other words, knowledge and attitudes mediate the relationship between
several factors and self-management. Conclusion: The most important factor influencing self-management
through both direct and indirect channels is knowledge. The indirect pathway is through attitude so that
increased knowledge leads to a more positive attitude towards TB and improved self-management
