Abstract

Background, Adherence to treatment is the level of patients carrying out the treatment regimen and behavior suggested by the doctor. In TB patients, adherence to treatment greatly influences the patient's recovery, but sometimes this treatment does not go well because it is influenced by several factors such as education, knowledge, the role of PMO and the role of officers. Objective: To find out the factors related to adherence to treatment for pulmonary TB patients at the dots polyclinic at Sinjai Hospital, Kab. Sinjai. Methods, this study used a descriptive survey design. Non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique as many as 41 respondents. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. Results, factors related to adherence to treatment of TB sufferers: results of data analysis using the chi-square test obtained by education with a p-value of 0.394 (p> 0.05), knowledge with a p-value of 0.45 (p > 0.05), the role of PMO with a p-value of 0.009 (p>0.05), the role of officers with a p-value of 0.003 (p>0.05). In conclusion, the factors related to adherence to treatment of TB sufferers in terms of education from the results of statistical tests showed no specific relationship with adherence to treatment of TB sufferers, while knowledge, the role of PMO and the role of health workers had a significant relationship.
